On Nov. 4, Texans have the opportunity to select members of the upcoming 84th Texas Legislature as well as a new governor and lieutenant governor. Together, these individuals will dictate the future of health care in Texas.
Outcomes of the election will determine whether we are going to do things the Texas Way and get a private market coverage solution for the state’s low-wage working families. The outcomes will determine whether $30 billion stays in the state to support hospitals in their delivery of uncompensated care and in their projects to reengineer the health care delivery system through the Medicaid 1115 Waiver.
