Texas Healthcare Trustees presents the Ollie Jo Bozeman Excellence in Administrative Professionalism Award to a hospital administrative professional with an exceptional record of commitment and contributions to ensure quality hospital governance.
Stacy Cantu has served as chief governance officer and corporate secretary for Texas Health Resources since December 2016. Texas Health is a large nonprofit health system located in North Texas with more than 75 boards and committees.
Prior to joining Texas Health, Cantu served as the president/CEO for Texas Healthcare Trustees, a statewide association for board members of hospitals for ten years. She served as the executive director for Keep Texas Beautiful from April 2001 to December 2006 where she received the Professional Leadership Award from Keep America Beautiful. She has over 25 years executive experience managing nonprofit organizations and small business ventures.



Cantu is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She served on the Texas Association of Society Executives Board of Directors for ten years, where she served as the organization’s chair in Cantu was honored in 2016 with the organizations’ Chairman’s Award. She is a past chair of Austin East Community YMCA as well as a past member of the YMCA of Austin Board.
Cantu was appointed to the Metrocare Board of Trustees by the Dallas County Commissions Court in 2021. Metrocare is Dallas County’s largest provider of mental health and development disability services in North Texas, serving over 55,000 adults and children annually.
Cantu facilitates strategic planning sessions and speaks around the country on governance topics. She and her husband David reside in Dallas, and they have one grown son.
