Texas Healthcare Trustees is excited to announce that Lori Boyd, DNP, MSN, RN, a member of the Palo Pinto General Hospital Board of Directors, will serve as THT Board Chair in 2026.

Lori Boyd brings more than three decades of nursing, education, and governance experience to her role as the 2026 Chair of Texas Healthcare Trustees (THT). She began her nursing career in 1989, building broad clinical expertise across multiple health care settings before shifting to leadership and service. Since 2010, Lori has served on the Palo Pinto General Hospital Board of Directors, where she has helped guide strategy and oversight for rural health care delivery. Her long-standing commitment to governance and advocacy has shaped her work at the state level, supporting hospitals and trustees across Texas.
After more than 20 years at the bedside, Lori transitioned into nursing education in 2016—an achievement she considers the most meaningful of her career. As a nursing program director, she has led an educational program that has prepared more than 1,000 nurses to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and adapt to advances in health care technology. She is also the author of an obstetrics nursing textbook, underscoring her dedication to strengthening the nursing workforce and advancing clinical judgment through education.
Lori credits collaboration and innovation as defining lessons from her career. Whether adapting classroom tools for simulation-based learning or sharing best practices on an international stage, she believes that practical, evidence-based strategies can elevate patient care far beyond a single organization. With characteristic humor, Lori likens her journey to National Lampoon’s Vacation—rarely a straight path, not always as planned, but ultimately landing exactly where she is needed. That adaptability, resilience, and sense of purpose will guide her leadership as she serves Texas hospital trustees in 2026.
