Legislative Forecast: 88th Texas Legislative Session Webinar

Join us for an insider look at the 2022 election results and the upcoming 88th Texas Legislative Session. In this webinar, advocacy expert Jennifer Banda, J.D., senior vice president of advocacy and public policy, will discuss potential implications of 2022 election outcomes on the health care environment at the federal and state level. Banda also will highlight THA’s policy priorities heading into the legislative session. As health care receives a renewed focus with the Texas legislature, she will share what topics will be of particular interest for Texas lawmakers and what that could mean for Texas hospitals.

Jennifer Banda, J.D., Vice President, Advocacy, Public Policy and Political Strategy, Texas Hospital Association, Austin

Jennifer Banda is senior vice president of advocacy and public policy at the Texas Hospital Association. At THA since 2003, Jennifer leads THA’s lobby and policy teams, focusing on hospital and health advocacy and regulatory initiatives at both the state and federal level, and oversees THA’s political action committee.

Prior to joining THA, Jennifer had extensive legislative experience, including managing health and human services policy for a previous Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. She also served as legislative director for a chairman of the House Committee on Public Health and as general counsel for a state senator. Jennifer’s other governmental experience includes stints at several state agencies, on Capitol Hill and in the White House.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Plan II Honors Program. In addition, she holds a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.
