Board chairs ensure effective board meetings. Join us for a review of best practices along with a discussion of common mistakes that can sabotage meetings. This will be an introduction to parliamentary procedure for board chairs. We will review your role in managing the deliberative process from motions to decisions. We will identify common mistakes that sabotage your meetings, leading to wasted time and indecision. Also, we will explore your role in efficient meetings that lead to better decisions and greater buy-in.

This program is for all hospital board chairs, along with board members and C-suite executives.

Wade Emmert, Attorney, Emmert Law, Dallas

Wade Emmert is an attorney and professional registered parliamentarian. As a lawyer, he specializes in health and business law. As a parliamentarian, he enjoys working with organizations to make meetings more efficient, more productive, and more enjoyable. He has extensive experience serving as a board member of non-profit organizations, including on a hospital's Board of Advisors, and presiding over large meetings with rigorous debate.
