American Hospital Association

The American Hospital Association has many ways for trustees to get involved through its Committee on Governance and the Regional Policy Board.

The Committee on Governance provides input on policy issues to be considered by the AHA board of trustees; leads effective trustee involvement in grassroots advocacy; enhances communication with and involvement of trustees in the AHA; and provides advice on AHA's trustee initiatives. This committee is made up of 28 members serving three-year terms. This committee meets three times per year.

The Regional Policy Board provides input on policy issues to be considered by the board of trustees; assist in implementing AHA policy and programs; and identify problems and needs unique to the region and develop programs to meet those needs. There are nine RPBs, each with a trustee delegate, alternate and liaison. Members serve a three-year term and meet three times per year.
