THT created a new scholarship fund to help further governance education in rural hospitals throughout the state of Texas.
The Rural Trustee Resources scholarship fund provides governing board members of Texas rural hospitals with education and tools to help ensure they are prepared to lead during a health care era marked by rapid change and innovation. The scholarship program has been fully funded for 2014 by FirstSouthwest.
“THT is very excited to collaborate with FirstSouthwest on the new THT scholarship program,” said Stacy Cantu, THT president/chief executive officer. “Now, more than ever, rural hospitals face much uncertainty. These smaller hospitals contain such dedicated staff, leaders and board members, and we want to guarantee they have what they need to remain viable and successful. We greatly appreciate FirstSouthwest for this collaboration. This scholarship is another step in providing resources for trustees allowing them to govern their organizations to provide the best care for Texans."
