Getting the Patient Involved in the Board Conversation

Sept. 25
Noon – 1 p.m. Central

This webinar is offered free of charge to members.

Patient and Family Engagement is much more than patient satisfaction and HCAHPS scores. Studies have shown PFE strategies to have had a significant impact, not only on patient satisfaction, but also on quality outcomes, the cost of care, and readmission rates. A vital role of hospital leadership is to define and communicate the organization’s vision and strategic plan. During this webinar we will discuss how PFE can and should be a part of your hospital’s strategy for success. We will also identify potential first steps, or next steps, to move your organization forward in this important initiative.

Participants will be able to:

  • Define Patient/Family Engagement (PFE) and how PFE differs from and impacts Patient Satisfaction;
  • Discuss the positive impact PFE efforts have shown to have in hospitals;
  • Describe the role of hospital leadership in PFE;
  • Discuss five Patient Family Engagement metrics as identified by CMS;
  • Identify first/next steps to help their organization move forward with PFE.
